About Us

Attorney Stein is a former President of the Massachusetts Conveyancer’s Associates (MCA), now the Real Estate Bar Association (REBA) and served on its Board of Directors from 1989 through 2018. He is a Land Court examiner and a member of the Abstract Club. He has authored chapters of Title Examination for various MCLE publications, including Crocker’s Notes on Real Estate. He has lectured at seminars held by REBA and MCLE. Attorney Stein also provides Expert Witness Services.

Attorney Stein is assisted by Attorney James A. Kelley who has more than 30 years of real estate experience. Attorney Kelley served as Senior Underwriting Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company in addition to time in private practice. Attorney Stein and Kelley are joined by Attorney Kenneth A. Mitchell, Jr. who has substantial experience doing title research and joined the Law Office of Joel A. Stein shortly after his graduation in 2019.
